Complete 350SC is a systemic garden insecticide with long-lasting action for controlling sucking and biting insects such as aphids, leaf miners, psylla on citrus trees, red scale, and thrips. This product is an easy, seasonal soil drench applied to the plant’s root area and is used as a preventative and corrective control for pests.
There is a wide range of garden insects that can harm plants, leading to plant unhealthiness and death.
Aphids are small insects that feed on plants and can weaken plants and spread disease. They target young plants, those emerging from seeds, new shoots, flowers, fruit, vegetables, herbs, and plants under stress. The Italian cypress aphid targets conifers. It extracts sap from the needles, which can lead to yellowing of foliage, premature needle drop, dieback of branches, and, if left untreated, eventual plant death. Conifers should be treated preventively, as peak infestation occurs during the cooler months starting in March. Damage is only visible in October.
Leaf miners are the larvae of flies or moths that burrow and feed on the soft inner tissue between the upper and lower surfaces of leaves. They create visible white or light green meandering lines, spots, or blotches on the leaves. The tunnels gradually widen as the larvae grow. Burrowing can damage and restrict plant growth, reducing flower and fruit production. They thrive in warm climates that favour their spread.
Psylla is a serious pest of citrus trees and can cause considerable damage, especially to new growth and buds. They are sap-sucking insects that can lead to stunted growth, reduced yields, and malformed, curled leaves with cavities (or bumps on the other side of the leaf). The characteristic yellow eggs on the edges of young leaves, and the subsequent cavities (or bumps on the other side), are the first signs of psylla presence.
Thrips are a common pest on both indoor and outdoor plants. These insects thrive in warm conditions, becoming a major problem outdoors during the summer months. They feed on numerous host plants, including vegetable crops, field crops, flowers, fruit trees, citrus and many ornamental plants. They feed on leaves, flower buds, flowers, or fruit, depending on the species, and damage plants by piercing the surface tissue and sucking out the contents, which can result in stunting, dwarfing, or distorted growth.
Red scale feeds on a wide range of indigenous and exotic trees and shrubs, and common cultivated hosts include citrus and roses. Due to toxins produced by the scale, heavy infestations can lead to defoliation and twig dieback, reducing quality and yields and ultimately causing the death of the tree. Longitudinal cracking of the tree bark on trunks and branches also occurs with large infestations.
Whitefly is notoriously difficult to control. Whitefly infestations mainly occur on plants cultivated under cover, but can also occur in gardens during extended warm, dry spells. The adult flies are approximately 2 mm long, and their wings are coated with white, waxy dust, which gives them their characteristic dusty-white appearance. Females lay eggs directly on the undersides of plant leaves, and adults and larvae remain there, causing damage to plants. It is important to understand that, as much as your plants like nitrogen-rich fertilisers, whiteflies like nitrogen-rich plants as well. Excessive nitrogen fertilisation can cause frequent infestations. While nitrogen can boost the vitality of your plants, over-fertilising your garden can attract whiteflies, leading to more frequent infestations. Whitefly feeds on the sap of plants, causing leaf curling, yellowing of leaves, and reduced plant vigour and production.
In the end, with the Complete on your side, you can finally get the upper hand on those suckers. Available in 50 ml and 1-litre bottles.
