Because mice and rats mature sexually in just 4 to 5 weeks, their rapid reproduction increases the risk of a rodent population surge if not managed.
Protek Rat and Mouse Pellets is a single-feed, pelleted rodenticide formulated with an anti-coagulant specifically designed to control Norway rats, roof rats and house mice. The product is ready to use, making it both convenient and straightforward to apply in areas where rodent activity is detected. Rat and mouse pellets are easy to place in hard-to-reach areas, in wall cavities or other tight spots where rats and mice move about.

Rats and mice are active in winter, looking for suitable places to stay while foraging for food. There is a significant decline in food availability during winter and our homes provide an alternative haven, where they benefit from the shelter and food we provide. They consume the equivalent of 10 % of their body mass daily and pollute our food and environment with hair, urine and stools. Due to poor sanitation in under-resourced areas such as informal settlements, these nocturnal pests thrive and cause significant human suffering in the form of rats feeding on the lips, fingers and toes of infants. In addition to the health risks they pose, they are a major source of destruction, especially when they seek shelter in our homes and vehicles.
It is critical to maintain control of any mice or rat problems and to exclude them from your property entirely. To get rid of an infestation, one must start outside by removing discarded food from refuse bags, as well as debris where mice and rats can hide and nest – these include piles of leaves, wood stacks or any other debris laying around the yard, one must then apply a rodenticide.
Rodenticide baits are the most effective way to get rid of even the toughest rodent infestations. Anti-coagulant pellets stop rodents’ blood from clotting, causing death after one feeding. Symptoms appear about three days later, with mortality taking place in four to five days. For large infestations, bait must be applied three to four times to exterminate all rodents.
